Oreinteering Quebec has taken a big step: for the first time in
many years we have had a chance to be at the big Salon des Sports et
Plein air which is a big expo in the Olympic Stadium (Montreal) for
sports and outdoor activities.
We had a small booth but were allowed to set up a small course in
the stadium so that people could try. We gave out over 1700 O-panphlets
and got over 250 people to sign up to receive the next newsletter. We
also got 2 outdoor activity giants (Mont Tremblant ski resort and
New World expeditions) very interested in us to make maps of their
land and organize big evnts as well as permanent courses.
  It ended up being a great success in letting people know about
our sport and making them interested and willing to come out. If
any of you have a chance to be part of such a great expo, take the
opportunity because although it is a lot of work, it was worth it.
