It is sounding like at the moment we have one rather serious
competitor for the 24 hour Rogaine being put on by CNYO this weekend
who still is in need of a partner. Is there anyone out there who is
in good physical condition that would like to give it a try?
Navigational skills would be a useful additional asset, but there
would already be at least one person on the team that could handle
that part of things. Let me know if you might be interested. For
further information about the details on the Rogaine, look at our web page:
http://cnyo.us.orienteering.org/cnyo/

And for anyone else who would like to enter at the last minute, please
let me know by e-mail _soon_ to avoid an additional increase in late
fees for day-of-event registration!

Lyme disease is the most common tick-borne disease (at least
in the USA), but there are others we should be aware of.
The July 1999 issue of Discover magazine had an article about
a patient with ehrlichiosis, which is on the rise in the
Midwestern US. There is a copy of the article on its web
site at http://www.discover.com/july_99/vital.html. This
includes a sidebar listing all the tick-borne diseases of
North America. I think we should start grooming each other
like monkeys!
