Bill,
Congratulation on your accomplishment. You have certainly proven that you have
a real -- Iron Butt. I bet you would really be tough at a Motor Cycle "O"
Meet. Keep em rolling!

Below is a little piece for you. Hope you like it. Fly safe!

Iron Butt
by James Ebb Huggins, Jr.

Bill (Iron Butt) Mackey, a motor cycle Orienteer so bold,
Has done a deed that has never been done by anyone quite so old.
With leather jacket on, helmet installed, and gloves ready to go,
He mounted his mighty Red Rider for El Paso, ready to show
All that would see that he could make it, could do what had never been done,
Could push the envelope of time and space, to outrun the mighty sun.

He started from Wascom, Texas, a little place in the road
With one rider along as wing man to prove that what he would do could be showed
To the world of motorcycle riders, and to those of us who do not ride,
That he could win the mighty Iron Butt title, with no one but God at his side.

He started the 15 hour journey, with the wind blowing in his face,
To get to El Paso before the sun did, to win the coveted race.
But when he arrived he decided that this accomplishment was not enough,
He had to extend the effort, to prove that he was really tough.

So he continued on for many miles, then returned for many more.
A total of 1,530 statutes in 36 hours, then noted that his rear end was not
sore.
So you can see why he got the Iron Butt trophy, with certificate, plaque and
all,
For anyone with a butt so strong, stands among the tallest of the tall.

Sierra Outdoor Guides, www.sierraguides.com, recently created a number
of new threaded message areas to discuss hiking the Eastern Sierras of
California. There is a Mt. Whitney area, an Inyo/Mono Hiking area and a
section devoted to climbing the peaks over 14,000 feet. The boards were
just created so there is not much there yet, but this is a free area
and is just waiting for your comments and notes.

All of the pleasant images that come to mind when you hear the word
Eastern High Sierra have been captured in the words, maps and pictures
in Sierra Outdoor Guides. This information will help you plan that
future backpacking, camping and fishing adventure.
