Clear skies, a refreshing Wyoming breeze, exceptional course designs by
Elis Eberlein, and the spectacular setting of the Medicine Bow area were
what awaited competitors on Day 5--and the final day--of the Rocky
Mountain 1000 Day. Those who didn't make it out just plain missed, and
what a way to end the millenium in Wyoming!

The results for the Cumbrian Galoppen event at Burnbanks to-day are now
linked to the BOF results page at
www.lakes-o.freeserve.co.uk

Apologies if you were trying earlier in the evening. There was a problem on
the server and it was only quite late when I managed to reload the main file
for about the seventh time.

Good courses, brilliant sunshine, & electronic punching were enjoyed by
almost 300 competitors. Next electronic event is the double badge event
weekend (BL & WCOC) at Swindale & Harrop Tarn on September 11/12. Entry
details can be found on the above website.

Roger Jackson.

Another comment on the subject of Australian selection policies (which may
have long gone by now as I haven't checked recently - if so I'm sorry to be
going over old ground). Are there any other countries where it is considered
acceptable for the national coach to also be a selector, and to be married
to a member of the women's team?

This is just an observation - I don't wish pass any judgement on the
situation!

Clare Barnes

The 1999 Crystal Relay, part of the Rocky Mountain 1000 Day, was won in
a convincing fashion by SVO, giving them back-to-back triumphs in North
America's premier relay. After Eddie Bergeron seized the lead midway in
the second leg for the Maryland club, SVO never looked back. BAOC took
second and RMOC third. All results are at:
