Se ci sono corsi in Italia non lo so. Ma io credo ci sono libri buoni in inglese (e anche norvegese:). Voi possiamo trovare software per cartografia qui: http://www.ocad.com Mi scusate per il mio italiano male. Ciao. For non-italians: According to my more than limited italian the question translates to > "We are two orienteerers from Trieste. We would like to know if there exist > courses for cartographers: Thank you" I don't know of any courses in Italy, naturally (anyone?). But I beleive there exists good books on the topic in english (and also in norwegian :). Software for cartography may be found here: http://www.ocad.com -- Yngvar

Have you tried optimising the map file - I do this on a regular basis and it saves heaps of problems. The problem you had happened to a friend of mine using OCAD6. She had manually cut a piece out of a map and the icons froze on her. Optimising did the trick. Also shutting down OCAD and restarting did it. With OCAD7 you can easily cut out a section of the map using the Partial Map tool. Don't know how OCAD7 operates with Windows98 - I've only had experience with Windows95. SportIdent also has a considerable price advantage over its main rival in that the SI e-card costs about 40% of the Emit version. >Great Britain is in grave danger of becoming an SI country without >considering the alternatives...........great stuff! Again, not true! NWOA considered the alternatives very carefully and decided that, on balance, SportIdent had the advantage. Other Associations (including my own, SEOA) are currently considering the alternatives too. Indeed, we are running trials of both systems at events in the near future simply so that we can judge each on its merits. I hope this puts the record straight! David May
